Final Blog

 When figuring out my senior project, I had many issues coming up with ideas and getting mentors. I knew I wanted to do something related to sports, but most teams do not have shorter internships for senior projects. My mom brought up the idea of the Akron Rubberducks, and I was fortunate enough that Ken Babby, the owner of the team, welcomed the idea. I really enjoyed my project because Mr. Babby and Jim Pfander, the general manager, allowed me to decide which parts of the organization I was interested in and wanted to shadow. Everyone I talked to was very generous, taking time out of their busy days to meet with me. The only negative during my time was that my project was curated a little last minute, so my schedule was not always busy. I was glad I was able to help the organization by giving ideas for new promotions and improvements and working during a game and an event. Blog #7

 I spent Tuesday finishing my project’s vlog, which took a while because Windows Movie Maker, the software on our computers, is very bad. It has so many glitches, which is frustrating because they have not changed the software in years. It took a while because whenever I made a cut somewhere, it affected something else in another place. I finally finished it. Wednesday, I went down to the stadium to shadow and assist the events team. There was a luncheon in the Duck Club. It was a very busy day for them because there was this event and then an event after while the game was going on. I got there and helped set up the food, made sure everything was tidy, and cleaned anything dirty or any smudges on the windows. Once the guests started arriving, our job was to help them if they needed anything, and I also was behind the bar getting them whatever drink they wanted.
